FAQ

Q. Who Is Cardpress?

A. Cardpress has been around since 2001 (also known as PFI Playing Cards). We are a family owned and operated business and customer service is our primary concern! We have been all about custom playing cards, however because of a massive request for custom poker chips we have added a large selection to our product line. We are manufactures representatives for several companies and offer a wide variety of custom playing cards and poker chips this is how we insure you get the best price and product to fit your unique needs. We are in business to offer you the best quality product at the best price.

We truly love what we do. We love the entire process from start to finish. We love helping you with the creative process and of course our favorite part is when you send and email or give us a call once your cards have arrived and your event has happened to tell us what a huge success your custom playing cards or poker chips were.

Q. What does “casino quality” mean?

A. It means that our cards are manufactured with same high quality paper stock for printing the cards that major casinos use.
The paper that we use is called “black liner board.” The paper consists of three layers – a laminate of two layers of paper, along with a center layer of black carbon.
Also, we have several playing card stock options depending on your needs – everything from 280 gsm to 330 gsm paper or 100% plastic or transparent. Just let us know what you need.

Q. What is the difference between bridge and poker sizes?

A. Poker cards are a ¼ inch wider than bridge cards.
Bridge card size: is 3.5 inches high and 2.25 inches wide.
Poker card size: is 3.5 inches high and 2.5″ inches wide.

Q. What is the back, face, and pips?

A. Back: is the common side. This should be the same throughout you deck to prevent “marking” you deck.
Face: this is the side with the numbers and suites. You can choose from our standard faces or you can customize yours with a different image on each card.
Pips: denote suits.

Q. What printing method do you use?
A. Again, we want to offer you the best option for your unique needs. To do this we use state of the art digital printing, traditional offset printing, and the hotstamp process.

Digital Printing is ideal for lower quantities, normally 1000 decks or less, with full color images, bleeds & custom faces are OK – all the benefits of offset. This method can be printed with the shortest production time.

Hotstamping, is best for low quantities, simple logos or straight-line copy. Special color matches and halftones are not available.

Offset is most often used for detailed, complex art, special color matches, custom borders, four color process and when art bleeds off the edge of the card. This is best for 500 decks or more.

A. This mostly depends on the playing card product you choose. We are EXPERTS at getting your rush items to you. If you need it FAST send us an email or give us a call.
